Coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you are planning on travelling distance to attractions, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Knowsley Safari Park

Knowsley Safari Park first opened to visitors in July 1971 and was the first Safari Park to be built close to a large city; the Estate is only eight miles from the centre of Liverpool. Over the last few years the park has experienced an enormous, year on year, increase in popularity with visitor levels now comparable to when the Safari Park first opened, which was then a completely new type of attraction in the region. Today the Park is still a unique attraction and we have invested in programmes to improve visitor facilities and add more animals to the collection, including two young elephants to the, already, largest herd of African elephants in Europe. During the summer of 1998 Knowsley Safari Park gave Granada Television unprecedented access to film the animals' behaviour in their spacious surroundings during a Merseyside summer. Knowsley Safari Park is Britain's largest safari park where visitors can enjoy a 5-mile drive through 500 acres of rolling countryside with the world's wildest animals roaming free.
